Orks: Gretchin (Warhammer 40,000)
Small, cowardly, and utterly expendable — the Gretchin are the cannon fodder of the Ork warband, herded into battle by their Runtherd and pointed at the enemy with varying degrees of enthusiasm. They may not inspire terror on their own, but in numbers they get the job done, and the job is usually standing on an objective while their bigger cousins go looking for a proper fight.
On the tabletop in 11th edition, Gretchin punch well above their cost as cheap backfield objective holders. Green Tide lists regularly run them specifically to sit on home objectives and free up Boyz and heavier units to push forward — a role they fill reliably at a points cost that makes them difficult to ignore in list construction. This kit also includes a multipart Ork Runtherd to keep the mob in line.
